Fanfan has just passed Southern tip of New Zealand’s Stewart Island, thus leaving Indian Ocean and entering Pacific! 14 500nm done, which is about a half way of Asia’s trip.

The last couple of days Asia was slowing down, in order to let a Low with winds of 60kts to pass in front of Fanfan, as the worse of the storm was to pass Stewart I. on Fri/Sat. Eventually, Fanfan passed Stewart I. with winds of 25kts.

Earlier, Asia had to change the mainsail, slightly damaged – and she did it in heavy seas! Now, they are sailing with main No 2, a smaller one. So far it’s OK, as she keeps sailing mainly with some reefs on the main. However, Asia wants to do the necessary repairs of the main as soon as the weather conditions allow.
